Background
The Board of Education of Frederick County approved the new Waverley Elementary School (WAVES) to be a 1019 seat building, and was subsequently was awarded to GWWO Architects for the design and Oak Contracting as the construction manager. The new WAVES Replacement will be an energy efficient building that meets, at a minimum, USGBC LEED Silver certification requirements, current local building codes of the authorities having jurisdiction and the educational program specifications. The Design was performed in accordance with the State of Maryland IAC / PSCP guidelines and DGS requirements. The project construction is about 60% complete and is on schedule to be open for students in the fall of 2022.
